I used to indulge in music, particularly Rap, but Alhamdulillah, now I
have distanced myself from that impurity. Many argue that music is akin
to sustenance for us, as its lyrics resonate with our lives and provide
solace. However, this sentiment is fleeting, merely a temporary respite.
The surge of dopamine is short-lived, and once it subsides, one is left
with the same void. Good and evil cannot be intertwined. As Iqbal aptly
stated:
"Can one bow down to the Creator and still befriend the Devil?
In the resurrection, who will ask for allegiance?"
The
sole source of true tranquility for the heart lies in the remembrance
of Allah (SWT). It is the only nourishment that genuinely fulfills our
needs. As the Quran mentions, "Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do
the hearts find rest" (13:28).
اَلَا بِذِکْرِ اللہِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوۡبُ
Hence,
eradicate your playlist and avoid songs at any cost for the sake of
Allah. Engage in constant prayer, and you will discover genuine peace
and mindfulness. Consequently, you will be liberated from this
transgression.
Instead of indulging in music, you can opt for
Vocals Only Nasheeds. Here are a few artists worth exploring, along with
their personal journeys of abandoning the music industry:
- Omer Esa
- Muslim Belal
Nevertheless,
the most rewarding endeavor you can embark upon is to immerse yourself
in Quranic recitations and Islamic lectures.
