The Precious Minutes Before Iftar

The Minutes Before Iftar - the saadat awan blog

The time before the Iftar is precious.

Those couple of minutes before iftar must be used properly. Those 5 or 10 minutes are not for staring at your food or drink. Nor to look at the clock, anxiously waiting for the exact moment for the time of iftar. Waiting for the adhan to start.

Instead, this time is for making supplication. As you can eat and drink afterwards, no one is stopping you but making these minutes special holds more importance.

As making dua in these minutes is the Sunnah. It is mentioned in one hadith; The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ says:

"Verily, the supplication of a fasting person is not turned away at the time of breaking fast." - [Sunan Ibn Mājah | 1753]

So, yes! It is a sunnah to make supplication before breaking fast, and your supplications won't go unanswered.

So, Why waste these valuable seconds?

This time before Iftar is to make dua, build the connection with Allah ﷻ. Make those efforts count that you did throughout the day for the sake of Allah ﷻ.

May Allah ﷻ bless and shower his blessing upon us.
